As you know, we are giving the kitchen a mini face-lift...
What I haven't shared with you yet, is the story about the Laundry/Scullery! In 2009 (yes 2009) we built an extra room adjacent to the kitchen to serve as our laundry and dish-washing area. At first everything went according to plan - until the roof was up.
For some, still mysterious to me, reason, Roy decided that was enough ..an extra room, running water (for the washing machines and the sink was installed with taps), a roof and a door. That's it ! Since wayyy back then I tried to get him to finish, there's a lot I can do, but unfortunately I have "stupid" hands after surgery some years ago.
Until 3 weeks ago ... I TOLD him we need to go to Builders Warehouse to buy tiles, paint etc. No, I did not ask him, I told him I want the Laundry area done within a couple of weeks, BUT, first I want to give the kitchen a little make-over and then the Laundry. No more nice guy doll speech - and I knew if he saw me starting to spend money, he'll start working.
Now, truly, he has been great the past 3 weeks, sometimes some men just need a little nudge. The kitchen is 95% finished (then I'll share with you) and the Laundry I'd guess about 75% - sooo, sooo close...
As I could not take a photo of the framed art where it should hang, the quality is not that great and believe me I tried everywhere in the house. (and it's raining with thunderstorms today as well - no sun) I want to show you what I did {so easy!}now, and when I post about the Laundry, you can see where these have been placed.
Materials used:
-2 Black Frames {black might be a funny color for a laundry but remember the kitchen = black/white +}
-Glue
-Small colored wooden pegs (available from Craft stores)
-Free printables which I found HERE and HERE. Thanks to A Pop Of Pretty and Three Little Monkeys Studio for sharing these lovely prints!
I glued the small wooden pegs on the frame on the top and two more (onto the glass) pointing to the word HOME
Onto the other frame I glued pegs to each corner and two (onto the glass again) looking as if it is hanging on the laundry line
Cheap and easy "Art" thanks to little additions and lovely people sharing their printables!
Bye-bye now,
