Beach Themed Headboard

Pin It Now!

I finished the Headboard !  As with the Kitchen mini make-over, we do the master bedroom in sections as well.

This was very easy, I bought one of those reed/branch screens from the guy next to the road whom I also asked  to make the pieces for my  Beachy Lamps.

Here is a pic of his handmade goods {in case you missed my post re; the Lamps}

I bought one similar to those on the far right hand side.

I almost forgot to take a pic - here I already started to spray paint ...

And I did this in between showers of rain !  In Gauteng the weather tend to change by the half-hour... Top pic shows the easy, simple legs Roy made and fastened to the screen - the bed is placed in a way that the little piece of the legs are pinned and will stay in place.

Both legs are attached - this is the backside which goes against the wall.

After the legs were fastened to the screen I used Rust-O-Leum {for metal, wood & plastic} in White, to spray paint the headboard, followed by a Clear Sealant also by Rust-O-Leum.

Above is a photo where you can see my Bookshelf and one of the Lamps which I posted about last week. I think, this corner at least, is coming together exactly the way I had in mind.

I bought this decorative metal wire thingy some time ago and forgot about it ... until I started the headboard! A few changes - I removed the pink ribbon which it had come with and replaced it with blue, and there was also a starry thing, which I removed.

Normally we get a lot of sunshine in the bedroom ... besides the window over the bed, we have a full wall of sliding glass doors on the far right leading to the swimming pool. But, the weather did not want to give me one day of nice sunshine, flooding into the room, to get a better shot.

One thing I never have in my bedroom is heavy, lined curtains. I love it when the sun shines through early in the morning, and of course the moonlight at night...

Let me know what you think!

Later,
