I saw something similar on Pinterest a few days ago, but I wanted mine to be a little different.... punch holes in and add lights to the inside of the top of the "hat" !
This is what I used:
- A tin can {I used a taller than usual can, as all the lights wouldn't fit into a smaller one}
- Spray paint - Black
- A piece of off-cut wood
But before I sprayed the can, Roy had punched some holes into it. After that was done, I sprayed the can as well as the piece of wood black.
To decorate I used:
- A strip of red felt to go around the hat
- Small felt bow I had cut and pulled it together with some ribbon
- Christmas flowery decoration
- Some small "gift" boxes {which is actually tree ornaments}
- Battery-operated white fairy lights - the battery and all the lights fit nicely into the can, which, by the way, I did not glue to the wooden base of the hat
- Twigs which I had left over from a previous project
Here is a picture of the Snowman Hat with the lights off:
I am still deciding whether I want more holes in the hat or if that will be over-kill...
Later,
Linking up with these cool parties:
